A multi-cultural company of 5 musicians and 5 dancers move through the moods and rhythms of Baladi.
Urban re-interpretation of rural Egyptian music is mirrored by a sophisticated, expressive dance style developed amongst the streets and social gatherings of Cairo.
Improvising and drawing on the mood of the moment Bint Al Balad presents an exciting, spontaneous, never to be repeated event.
Alongside the performances there will be workshops with live music for dancers and a unique opportunity for musicians to learn Arabic music from master musicians.
Dancers: Laura Maria De Gaspari, Meret Gabra, Sarah Hennessey, Sara Kahan and Guy Schalom.
Musicians include Sheik Taha, Ibrahim el Minyawi.
